At 4:00 pm the NCDOT announced that the Bonner Bridge at Oregon Inlet was safe and open to traffic. Recent surveys and inspections of the scoured bridge sections indicated enough sand had been replaced to warrant giving the go-ahead for vehicles to drive across the bridge.
