Fishing Report Oct 9th 2013

It’s Wednesday Oct 9th 2013 and it’s blowing like stink on the sandbar (N E 20 – 30+ mph) under cloudy skies and intermittent showers with a heavy surf advisory in effect. Expected high temp of 69 degrees with sunset at 6:39 pm and sunrise tomorrow at 7:04 am.   Today will be the worst of this exiting system – laying down tonight, tomorrows wind will be 10 – 15 mph.  Trust me, it will still be rough, but it’ll be less challenging  than today.  Tide is high at 11:03 am and 11:25 pm with a low at 5:38 pm.

Midday reports for the piers and surf indicated no activity to post.  All boats wisely have remained at the docks.

Gary B at Fishing Unlimited  reported a nice puppy drum was just pulled over the rail minutes ago at the MDB (aka “the little bridge”).  Considering the weather he declared that fish well earned.

Good luck to everyone in the 2013  Nags Head Invitational Surf Fishing Tournament, kicking off tonight at the Ramada Inn in downtown Kill Devil Hills.  As always,  Take a Kid Fishing!!!   Coolbreeze out
